University Heights Redevelopment
We have received the following information from Wesbild:
“We are pleased to provide you with an update on Wesbild's redevelopment proposal for University Heights Shopping Centre. Since our community open house in December of last year, we’ve been working with District staff and our anchor tenant, Home Depot, to finalize our application based on stakeholder input and are now moving forward to the next step in the rezoning and approval process – Council Introduction. While there is some uncertainty surrounding timing as a result of the pandemic, we are both excited and hopeful to be able to introduce the project to Council this summer.”
The developer has prepared a detailed plan of the proposal that can be accessed by the following link”

The Park has provided a welcome relief to many during covid-19 isolation, but the Park itself is showing wear and tear and we are looking at proactive measures we might take to address this.
Public Hearings
Developments that require rezoning or changes to bylaws are required to go to a Public Hearing where Council can hear input from residents. At this time, the municipality is not holding meetings where the public may attend. We anticipate that public hearings will be held using video and electronic participation. We will let our residents know of any of these that involve properties in Gordon Head.
